Introduction

CARTEK are the sole supplier of Rain Lights to the V8 Supercars Championship.

V8 Supercars Australia tasked Cartek with developing a Rain Light that not only met the latest FiA Specifications but that would also include a Hazard Amber warning function as a serious Start Line accident could have been prevented. See below.

This Hazard warning function would light up when the cars PDM unit would recognise when the car has stalled –?alerting all the drivers around that the car has a problem. See the Dual coloured Rain Light in action:

This Rain Light has two modes of operation –

Static On/Off

Hazard Warning

This Rain Light can help prevent rear-end shunts by alerting drivers of a stationary or slow moving car.

When to use it:

• OFF –?Clear track.
• ON –?Wet race, poor visibility.
• HAZARD –?Stalled on the grid.
• HAZARD –?Driving slowly with misfire.
• HAZARD –?Driving slowly with puncture.
• HAZARD –?Safety Car or Red Flags spotted.
